Located in the county of Cambridgeshire in the east of England, Cambridge is a historic and picturesque city set along the banks of the River Cam, only 55 miles north of London — easily accessible by train in under an hour.
Cambridge is best known for the world-renowned University of Cambridge, made up of 31 independent colleges. The university has helped shape the city into a global centre for education, research and tourism, with stunning architecture, historic streets and quintessentially English traditions at every turn.
The original manuscripts of A.A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) are held in the Wren Library at Trinity College.
Among the city's most iconic sights are King's College Chapel with its magnificent Gothic design, the Mathematical Bridge at Queens' College, the Bridge of Sighs at St John's College and the Fitzwilliam Museum.
